After working in the business world for 25+ years and being a Professional Certified Coach for more than 20, Lisa has discovered the core skills required for effective leadership.

She’s managed teams, owned her own companies, been the youngest and only female partner/board member in a national firm and written 5 books on leadership. As an executive coach, she’s coached thousands of leaders across hundreds of organizations. 

Lisa was an early adopter of coaching, helped spark the work-life balance movement in 2004, has designed and delivered hundreds of leadership development programs in-person and virtually, and released her first online course in 2014.

Now she’s created The Coach-Like Leader Experience™, a whole new style of blended learning to bring coaching fundamentals to more organizations across the globe.

Meet Lisa Martin, PCC

A few years ago, I began to notice a real pain point in the coaching industry. Conventional 1:1 coaching wasn’t having a big enough impact organization-wide.

So I did some testing and created a half-day workshop called Coaching Fundamentals which I ran in many organizations training hundreds of leaders to add coaching skills into their day-to-day leadership. That workshop got rave reviews and we saw leaders changing the way they lead and move their teams forward.

But there was still one key challenge —sustaining that coach-like behaviour change for the long term.

The reality was that Coaching Fundamentals was only a 3-hour workshop in the life of a leader and it wasn’t providing the type of sustained changes organizations really needed.

I knew there had to be a better way for organizations to implement coaching training that was sustainable and scalable with a high ROI.

And that was when the idea of The Coach-Like Leader Experience™ was born: an innovative coaching skills training program that fits the needs of the modern organization.

The reality is that COVID has changed the way we work permanently, which means the skills our leaders need are changing too.

Now more than ever, leaders need to be agile and adaptive so they can inspire their people to be and do their best AND keep up with all the challenges thrown their way every day, whether that be mastering leading in the hybrid workplace, keeping team members engaged, or shedding outdated management techniques and replacing them with modern leadership skills.

When we teach people leaders how to be more coach-like, it improves their ability to be more curious, empathetic and lead their teams better.

I’ve made it my mission to build organizations’ coaching cultures by helping them significantly boost the number of coach-like leaders in their ranks, and sustain their impact for the long term… to drive higher employee engagement and satisfaction, improved team performance and rewarding financial results.
